NOVEL ENTERTAINMENT WORKS MAGIC WITH HORRID HENRY AND T SHIRT BOOTH

Partners with Digital Giving app and Magic Breakfast

Oxford, 06 March 2014. Leading independent producer Novel Entertainment is partnering with Digital Giving to provide unique designs from its hugely successful children’s entertainment property Horrid Henry through its innovative T-Shirt Booth app. The app links engaging children’s characters with deserving causes, allowing customers to create their own bespoke T-Shirts whilst generating funds for charity. Novel Entertainment has nominated Magic Breakfast, a charity dedicated to ensuring every child starts the day with the right breakfast as fuel for learning, as its charity partner.

Four original designs based on the show will launch on T-Shirt Booth today to coincide with World Book Day.

Horrid Henry (currently 156 x 11’) is one of the most popular animated children’s shows ever in the UK. 2014 is set to be a landmark year for the brand, with the commissioning of an unprecedented fourth series for CiTV, which will bring the total number of episodes to 208.

Mike Watts, co-producer for Novel Entertainment, says: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be able to partner with both Digital Giving and Magic Breakfast, and to support them by means of the Horrid Henry brand.  The funds raised by the sale of one T-Shirt will provide 10 healthy breakfasts for a schoolchild – that’s something that everyone can be proud of”.

Grant Morgan, Founder of Digital Giving, adds: “We love the fact that new technology can place the opportunity to donate right into the hands of parents who really want to make a difference. Horrid Henry is a fantastic addition to our portfolio of children’s characters, and we look forward to building our relationship with both Novel Entertainment and Magic Breakfast.”

Carmel McConnell, Magic Breakfast Founder comments: “We are delighted that Novel Entertainment has chosen Magic Breakfast as the benefiting charity for the Horrid Henry T-Shirt booth. A healthy breakfast costs us just 22p so it is fantastic that each T-Shirt sold will give a hungry child breakfast for two weeks, allowing them the right fuel for learning.”

Novel’s three times BAFTA-nominated TV show has been a huge success for CITV and the brand has been extended to include film, stage, games, radio, audiobooks and online as well as being at the heart of a successful licensing and merchandising programme. The show is consistently the most watched programme on the CiTV channel and has a significant and growing social media following.

A Novel Entertainment Production, Horrid Henry is produced by Lucinda Whiteley and Mike Watts for CiTV.
